About this Cook
married over 20 years, two children - grown. Love to try new recipes all the time.
My favorite things to cook
I really like baking, seems to come out the best for me. But I do just love cooking in general. I make a mean banana bread and beer bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I started my kids out cooking one meal a week when they were 7. This has been a lot of fun and they now impress all there friends because they really know how to cook, even at such a young age.
My cooking triumphs
Becuase of teaching my son how to cook early on he made a wonderful Valentine dinner for his girlfriend with cherries flambe for dessert. And he is only 19.
My cooking tragedies
The first turkey disaster. It was so tender and juicy it fell off the bones and I just sat and cried that I could not have the whole turkey presentation. They all laughed at me and said "at least it is not dry." I guess my husband knew then that he was in for some wonderful meals, even if I didn't think so.

Ma Lipo's Apricot-Glazed Turkey with Roasted Onion and Shallot Gravy
OMG! This took a little extra time, but oh so worth it. Husband said it was the best turkey he ever had. Used sugar free apricot preserves since I am diabetic, but the flavor was outstanding. Will also be using this with chicken as well since it is just the 2 of us now.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley
This was a nice change from the usual veggies. Brought it to Easter. Cooked a little less time (really like crunchy veggies), everybody loved them.

Easy Sausage Strata
So easy and tasty. Made the night before and then I was ready for christmas morning. Family questioned it until they tasted it and there was nothing left. Great for brunch.
