Road trip! Off to the great white north we go! Well, maybe not that far north. Ok, north an hour to Brighton Michigan to the 2nd Annual Mini-Mi. On the way, hubby tells me Michigan State is playing Michigan in Ann Arbor. Which we will go right by. So glad we weren’t driving south right then!… MORE

About this Cook
I never cooked at home growing up, just seems to come naturally in our family. Good satisfying down home cooking. Love trying out new recipes, and the guys here love it too.
My favorite things to cook
Love easy fast recipes, like to bake if it doesnt involve pie crust or rolling out dough.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern from my family, Hungarian from my husbands side. Fried sweet potatoes, cornbread dressing, fried okra,Hungarian turkey, paliscintas,Pigs in a Blanket
My cooking triumphs
Most of what I cook, nothing special comes to mind
My cooking tragedies
Like a lot of others, that first Thanksgiving turkey. Still frozen and the paper sack of giblets still in there.

Tami's Tri Color Caprese Salad
I didn't use any shallots and used a balsamic reduction glaze, caprese is marvelous and the yellow tomatoes make it even prettier on the plate. Thanks!

Grilled Onions and Potatoes
Made for Recipe Group. I am in love! These are soooo tasty!! I put them all in a foil pan, set covered on the grill and cooked till tender and turned them over a time or two when I checked them. Thanks for the recipe!

Tom's Down To The Bone Pork Chops!
Made for Recipe Group. While simple, these were definitely too bland for me. One pinch of seasoning is not enough to do 6 chops, and the to taste is the way to good. I still put a healthy teaspoon in the mayo, the chops need to be seasoned, then the mayo and even the panko. Coating was soggy and wouldn't stay on the chops. I think if I did these again I would season more heavy and pan fry before finishing in the oven. Thanks for the idea though.
