Chocolate Brownies with Fewer Calories

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
First, let me say I made a few changes. I used milk instead of water, about a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, and 2 eggs instead of 4 whites (I only had 2 eggs on hand). That said, this was a very good recipe. They weren't as good as regular brownies, of course, but for being lower in fat than regular brownies these were great. The batter was very thin, and I was a bit worried, but they cooked up nicely. I will definitely make these again!

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This was awesome! I threw in some broccoli, snow peas, carrots, red bell peppers and water chestnuts and served it over brown rice. Next time I will probably just skip the breading because it got a bit mushy for me, but the sauce was great! Thanks!

Delicious! I baked these instead of frying them to cut down on fat and calories and they were stil delicious! Thanks!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Delicious! It's not too spicy, but has delicious flavor. Instead of cooking it in all that butter and oil, I put it on a sheet of foil that I sprayed with cooking spray on my indoor grill. I sprayed both sides of the chicken and then sprinkled the spices on top. After cooking on both sides I drizzled the lime juice over it and then added a few shakes of the garlic powder. Yum!!

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This was very good! Instead of the flavored feta, I used an 8-oz block of feta that I crumbled, one 2-ounce pack of sun-dried tomatoes (chopped) and 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped basil. I breaded the chicken on both sides and then stuffed it. I served this over angel hair pasta with "Best Marinara Sauce Yet" from this site. Will make again!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
These cookies are AMAZING! Any time I want to make chocolate chip cookies, I immediately turn to this recipe. They are soft and delicious! I make the cookies smaller than the recipe calls for so I can eat more with less guilt! :) I would recommend this recipe to anyone!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
These were good, however I found the actual biscuit a bit bland. The melted butter topping was good, and I added some Old Bay seasoning. Next time I will add the seasoning to the mix as other reviewers have suggested.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I enjoyed this soup. There was a little too much cabbage for my taste, and I had to add a lot of black pepper to put some flavor in it. Otherwise, it was pretty good :)

Light Wheat Rolls

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
Delicious! Instead of making spirals, I simply rolled them into balls and placed them in muffin cups. They turned into muffins, but that was okay. When I kneaded it, the dough was pretty sticky, so I ended up adding a lot more flour to make a stiff dough. They were really light and fluffy and tasted great dipped in tomato soup. Overall, a great recipe!

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
A pretty good recipe. However, they were a bit dry and bland. I had to add another 1/4 cup of water to make a good dough, and even then they were dry. They rolled out very well, but a floured rolling pin is a must! Next time I might add a little taco seasoning to the tortillas to add some flavor. UPDATE: I froze some leftover balls of dough and I also froze some already-made tortillas. The already-made tortillas thawed really well, but the balls of dough were dry and tough and I ended up just throwing them out. If you have extra dough, COOK IT and then freeze it! DO NOT FREEZE THE UNCOOKED DOUGH!

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
I have used this twice now, and I got different results each time. The first time, I made a single batch and it turned out great. The second time, I doubled the recipe, and it turned out yellower than the first time and not as creamy. However, I liked the taste. Advice: Don't double the recipe!

Waistline-Friendly Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Delicious! Instead of chipotle BBQ sauce, I used Jack Daniel's Original No.7 sauce and tossed in some chopped chipotle peppers. I also used a whole red pepper, a whole green pepper, and half of an onion. Although it was a bit spicy, I will definitely make this again!

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
This was a good recipe, but my crepes turned out pretty spongy. However, I have never had crepes before, so maybe that's what they are supposed to be like, or maybe it was my technique. Overall, the taste was good. I made a chocolate filling and spread it on the crepes and then added some bananas. Yum!

White Chocolate-Cranberry Biscotti

These were yummy! I used dried cherries and vanilla baking chocolate pieces... The only problem came when I was slicing the "loaf". The slices sort of fell apart when I cut them. Otherwise, delicious!
