This is a great base recipe that I will hold onto forever. My hubby wants snack for his lunchbox that are heart healthy...I've added soy flour, flax seed meal, and oat bran, used many different dried fruits and nuts, and even added chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or mini m&ms. I can't mess this recipe up, and he always loves them. Thanks so much, PREGOCOOK!

Butter Icing for Cookies

Perfect! I spent almost an hour searching the web for an icing recipe for cookies that would be firm enough to send with my son to school. Every one I've tried in the past was either tasty, but soft and messy, or rock hard with flavors that were mediocre at best. This icing was quick, easy, delicious, and firm enough to stack within an hour, but still tender to the bite. Exactly what I was looking for! I substituted french vanilla coffee creamer for the cream, otherwise followed the recipe. (Try White Velvet Cut-Outs with this icing...it's by far the best cut-out cookie I've ever had.)

Lemon Square Bars

Wow! These are soooo good! Looked at four of the most highly rated recipes for lemon bars, and the suggestions in the reviews, and this recipe kinda seemed like the middle ground between all of them. Lined my pan with parchment, and am glad I did, probably would have had trouble getting them out otherwise. Used slightly softened butter, not melted, per one reviewer's suggestion. Added a pinch of salt for crust, and completely forgot the baking powder in the filling, but they were perfect! To-die-for good. Tender crumbly crust and perfect tangy/sweet combo in the filling. Going to make more tonight, these were all gone when I woke up and I just made them last night!

Fried Onion Rings

Super Recipe!!! I have tried 4 or 5 different onion ring recipes before this, and this one is by far my favorite. Only four ingredients for the batter, and it's as good as, or better tasting than any other in my experience. Quick, easy, and yummy! Thanks!

Pepperoni Rolls

My husband is from PA, and he raves about the "pepperoni balls" they sell there. So I was very excited to find this recipe, and he said it sounded just like them. We both thought these were very good, but he said they didn't taste at all like the ones he ate all the time growing up. When I cooked for 16 min. and the tops were barely golden, like the recipe says, they were still a bit doughy inside. I put them back in the oven for a few more minutes and they were fine.

Baklava

I have used this recipe at least a dozen times and it is outstanding! We do like it with much more cinnamon though, a couple tablespoons. Every single person who has eaten it said it was the best they've ever had. My brother told me he had baklava at an award-winning Greek restaurant and mine was much better.

Carrot Cake III

I made this recipe twice, once exactly as is, and once with the changes other reviews suggested. It was pretty much the same both ways, except the second time you could notice the extra spices, which was nice. Either way, just an average recipe. I've had just as good or better results adding carrots and nuts to a boxed spice cake mix.
