I started cooking when I got married. It was all about Better Homes & Garden back then. I must've tried every recipe I read on a can, box or in a magazine. It's awesome making and creating food my family and friends enjoy to eat.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian and Asian. They are the "family" cuisines. I grew up between Hawaii and Samoa, so I'm influenced by everything. You can get a lot out of little with both cuisines. I love meat lasagna and mochiko chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Roasted pork shoulder, Vili vili (rotisserie-style) pig and lasagna. I come from a family of 11 kids, so we eat alot and it's great when we can get the pig on a spit and the skin is nice and crunchy.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say that I pretty much take the cake when it comes to stir fry. I always have to cook for family reunions and special occasions.
My cooking tragedies
Eww. I've tried hard to block the memories. J/K. I made a baked pudding and forgot to add the baking soda. What can I say, I'm almost perfect...lol.
