I started cooking when I was a teenager by asking my mom "Im making pork chops tonite, how do I cook them?" from there It just got better. I realized that if I wanna eat I gotta cook. Ialsolearned if you cook for other people they are happy to eat whatever you make, so therefore you can cook whatever YOU want to eat
My favorite things to cook
Ilove to cook steaks(its what I do best)ribs & buffalo wings are always requested and I can cook any type of roast from beef wellington to prime rib.Lamb chops, italian pasta dishes, chicken, veal it doesnt matter I just love to cook anything. I will try to make anything. Hey if you dont try you will never know if you can do it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
when I got married my father-in-law owned & cooked at "THE NEW YORKER" in RVC we would sit around talking about food all the time. He was from Spain & loved food. Our holiday meals were always Leg o lamb at Easter & beef wellington At Christmas. I started making Chistmas cookies 10yrs ago & now everyone wants them.
My cooking triumphs
making beef wellington with my father-in-law for the first time. since he was a chef I was intimidated but it came out great & from then on Ill attempt anything. Mastering buffalo wings so everyone can enjoy them was also pretty cool.Cooking down atthe firehouseevery month forthe past 15yrs helps& trying to please 30 guys every month is a triumph in itself
My cooking tragedies
One year I was having my family over for Christmas (@25 people) & I didnt have enough potatoes so I decided to mash them, it still wasnt enough so I added dried oatmeal to it to stretch it out. Needless to say dont do it,it wont work,
