Glazed Lemon Supreme Cupcakes
Anna's Wedding Cake
About this Cook
I started working in the food industry when I was 15 years old and lied about my age. I worked in Dunkin' Donuts and later, transferred to another bakery to work as an apprentice. After completing my apprenticeship, I moved to N.C. For over 20 years, I have made home made wedding cakes for friends and paying customers. I love to cook and get many compliments for my cooking. Friends always ask me cooking advice so I guess I'm pretty good at it.
My favorite things to cook
Polish Soul Food (family recipes, Baking Bread and Pastries, Italian Food and pretty much anything. I don't care for recipes that have too many steps or too many way out there kind of ingredients.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking traditions would include: Christmas Cookies at Chirstmas, Cooking Punchke, which has become a family occasions. A Puncke is a Polish donut stuffed with Raisins and rolled in powedered sugar. This requires many hands to roll 200 golf sized balls of dough and stuff them with raisins. Making Home Made Pierogi, Babka and Kruscki.
My cooking triumphs
Stacking a wedding cake and having it stand straight for 6 hours. Learning how to make a delicious Hush Puppy! It took me 10 years, but I finally have it down!
My cooking tragedies
Learning how to make a delicious Hush Puppy. It took many years to learn how to make the correctly. So many batches got tossed right into the trash can. Not even the 'puppies' in my house wanted to eat them!

Grandma's Polish Perogies
I have made Pierogi's for over 20 years. This is by far the best recipe I have found for the dough. The sour cream makes it very easy for rolling. Not my 'Babci's' recipe, but much better. (please, don't tell her I said so!)

Glazed Lemon Supreme Pound Cake
My son asked for a Lemon Pound cake for his birthday cake this year. (He will be turning 22 years old!) I found this recipe and thought I'd give it a try. I followed the recipe but added 1/4 cup sour cream and lemon pudding instead of lemon gelatin. Because I had to serve it to 12 people in a resturaunt, I decided to make cupcakes with this recipe. They turned out very moist. I poked holes in the cupcakes and poured 1 tsp of the glaze over it. I then mixed 1/4 cup water and 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a sauce pan. I mixed in 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp lemon extract. After the sugar was dissolved, I mixed it into 2 cups of confectionery sugar, and stirred in some yellow food coloring. I piped on some rose buds with some icing I already had. My husband loved this cupcakes. I will be taking the cupcakes 4 1/2 hours to see my son for his birthday /Easter.

Peachy Pork Chops
These are very good. I do not care for ginger, so I substituted 2 Tlbsps of Maple Syrup. The pork was very tender and the peaches gave the pork a great flavor. Next time, I'd like to try some kind of orange flavor or pineapple flavor along with the peaches.
