orange lentil soup
About this Cook
I am a happily married, stay at home mom of three boys ages 12,11 and 6. I enjoy the differences in my kids personalities. I love to travel and meet people from all over the world. I also love to workout and esp. go to aerobics (zumba!)class. I'm a substitute lunch lady in my kid's school. It's fun!
My favorite things to cook
I like quick and easy but tasty family dinners that my boys will eat. I have been steadily becoming a better cook in the 13 years I've been married and cooking for my family. I like to improvise by adding my own spices to dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making Christmas cookies. It's the time of year to take some extra time and make traditional Austrian and American treats. I love ground nut cookies and treats with Cranberries.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest accomplishment is getting a tasty, healthy dinner on the table at least 4-5 nights a week. I love when my kids eat broccoli and squash.
My cooking tragedies
I have been known to leave a cooling pot of stew or beans out all night because I got called away from cooking. What a waste!

Filipino Avocado Milkshake
so good!! I really enjoyed this. The avocado adds a real richness and creaminess to the shake. Healthy too! fantastic.

Orange and Lentil Soup
I love this soup!! So simple but delicious and unexpected. I didn't puree the soup as we like it chunky but otherwise I followed it exactly. Healthy too!

Acorn Squash with Apple
I love winter squash and this is a great way to blend fall flavors! I used all the ingredients but just like another reviewer I left the squash whole and stuffed it. I roasted it and it came out tender and full of taste!
