Strawberry Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
This salad is amazing!! I prefer it made with strawberries, but it's been made with raspberries, as well as mixed raspberries, and is always a success!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Awesome Soup!! I boiled the potatoes, instead of baking them (I used a bag of baby russet potatoes), half of the basil & pepper, and kept everything the same. (Except, I made BLTs to go with it, didn't have enough bacon for the soup, so I used the bacon drippings still & topped it with real bacon bits). It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!! Will definitely make again!!

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
How to turn a 4 star recipe into a 5 star: (I honestly didn't try the recipe how it was posted...read a few complaints & changes, also didn't have red wine vinegar in hand...but it was amazing when done as follows): 2 & 1/2 heads broccoli (chopped into small pieces) 6 slices of bacon (All I had on hand) 1 & 1/2 C Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1 medium red onion, diced 1 tsp pepper Dash of salt 1 C. Mayo 1/3 C Sugar 2 Tbs White Vinegar VERY, VERY GOOD!!! (Might even decrease the sugar to 1/4 C)

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I made these for 10 servings, using the Allrecipes Calculator. They turned out perfectly!! The only thing is that when I changed the servings, it said to use 1 & 1/4 tsp salt...when I tried the sauce before I poured it on top, it was salty. However, when the potatoes were done, they were perfect!! (I just didn't put any salt & pepper on top on my own plate). Very good recipe!!

Strawberry Trifle

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I wanted to use fresh strawberries, but they had none at the grocery store-so I had to use frozen. I thawed them out & strained any leftover juices from them. I used 2 bananas on the bottom layer & 3 on top. When making it, I didn't think taht 1 pkg of pudding would be enough (I screwed up & only used 2 cups of milk, instead of the recommended 3), but when I tasted it, it was delicious!!! Very easy to prepare (Eventhough Mom didn't have a trifle dish, like I was sure that she did LOL). I just used a large glass mixing bowl & it was fine. To garnish, I used a slice of banana in the centre & 5 halves of strawberries to make petals, to make it look like a flower. Very simple, but effective. Thanks for a lovely recipe!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
Soooo good!!! I used 1C Minute Rice (Cooked in 1C boiling water) & 1/3C + 1 Tbsp Sugar. I also used the full 2C milk, as directed. This was very tasty!! After the pudding was cooked, I put it into 4 sundae cups, sprinkled with some cinnamon sugar. They were awesome!! (For extra cinnamon/sweetness, fill each cup 1/2 way with pudding, sprinkle some cinnamon sugar, then fill the other 1/2 with pudding, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar). My entire family loved it!!! Thanks for a great recipe!!

Mission Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
Here's how to turn this 4 star recipe into a 5 star: 1) Don't cook the tortillas for 8 minutes-probably just 4 or 5. You just want them a little crispy-not burnt. 2) Add 1 pkg of taco seasoning mix to the ground beef, once its cooked. 3) Top with Tex Mex Cheese, chopped tomatoes, green onions, (black olives, if you wish), and a dollop of sour cream. 4) Voila!! You've automatically added an extra star! Enjoy! I made these for "Cinco De Mayo". They were a big hit: Even with my picky 4 year old niece!
