About this Cook
Hi, Don't know what to say about me. Love to laugh. Play card games with friends. Enjoy taking college courses in my free time, try to take one per semester at the community College if I can. I am a Silver/gold smith who does one of a kind jewelry pieces. I also paint and do small sculpture. Married to a great man since 1984. No kidlings, but I do have a kitty-cat friend.
My favorite things to cook
Really have always enjoyed baking. But am finding I really like to cook things with veggies, I enjoy cutting stuff up, get to pretend I am Emeril for a bit. It also seems like if it makes the kitchen a mess I like doing it. (Grin)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I miss the big family thanksgivings of my childhood. Watching my Gang-Gang(grandma) bake pies. I watched her for hours. Loved to watch her hands work. I miss her, I love to bake pies at thanksgiving in Gang's pie pans.
My cooking triumphs
Making cabbage buns that taste just like my husband remembers his grandma's
My cooking tragedies
The first turkey I ever made. I did not know to thaw it first so I baked it with the baggies of stuff in it. I tell you what, melted plastic bags of giblets do not make good turkey stuffing and is NOT good eats..........LOL

Skillet Apple Brownie
There is one major thing wrong with this!!!! It is just truly...way too good....YUM I am going to have such a hard time staying away from it. Evin, you will be to blame if I get divorced, due to lack of sharing.. Well done!!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken
The tin foil keeps it out of the juices, so it tastes roasted, not boild. If your a skin eater, this is not for you. But if your looking for a good tender chicken that will work for all kinds of things the first time and for leftovers this is the recipe for you.

Mom's Beef Shish Kabobs
Great beef marinade, the lemon adds a nice twist and some nice flavor. I only had an hour to marinate, so I let them sit in fridge for 1/2 hour and on the counter for 1/2 hour. My kabobs turned out great!! Thanks for a great recipe, I’ll be using this marinade for plain steak too.
