About this Cook
I've been cooking and baking since around 5. I currently get by with one cooking pan, 2 pots and 1 baking sheet. Not a lot of supplies but I do manage! Cooking is my main hobby. I am married with one baby (who is cutest in the universe) I am always willing to learn and cook new things! Being in a rural community encourages me to cook and share whatever I create.
My favorite things to cook
Anything. I do love baking. I make sure I make a wholesome meal for my family everynight.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really did most of the cooking as a child. I grew up below the poverty line so we ate a lot of casseroles, spaghetti and hamburger helper. My mom and grandparents have passed down a few really good recipes. Such as my FAVORITE, manicotti, unfortunately I would feel ashamed if I EVER shared this recipe with anybody, it is for sure a big secret!
My cooking triumphs
Making my sons first birthday cake! It turned out fantastic and we decorated it with big bird and it turned out looking better than store bought. I was upset when it got cut for eating :D. Learning to make home made pasta, tortillas, french bread! I was so proud that I could create something so delicious. I am so happy that I am able to make something even if we have very little food.
My cooking tragedies
The first meal I cooked for my husband was fantastic. He is a little old fashioned, and believes a wife should know how to cook and bake. Dinner was good, but my cheese cake turned out AWFUL. I thought I could use a mixed berry cream cheese and save some time, it turned out sort of runny/burned and just a complete disaster!

Creamy Strawberry-Lemon Squares
I made these for a potluck and they were devoured within minutes! I absolutely HATE flavored cool whip, so I sliced about 2 cups of fresh strawberries and folded them into plain cool whip. Fabulous.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
Really good. Definitely use less salt though! 1/2 a teaspoon was plenty.

French Fried Potatoes
Really good. I love my fries REALLY crispy. These were better than most fast food places!
