About this Cook
I'm in my mid twenties and I live with my husband and two beautiful kitties. I have always liked to cook, but have just started to get adventurous with it in the last two years or so.
My favorite things to cook
My favourite things to make are soups and stir frys, anything with lots of veggies. On the baking side, I love chocolate and peanut butter - preferably together in some fashion.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I didn't have much for cooking traditions growing up. But I have created a new one! I have a couple hundred recipes printed off from AR and put in a binder. Every weekend my husband picks a meal and a dessert that I haven't made before for me to make. Then we eat and critique it together.
My cooking triumphs
I consider every new meal I make that tastes delicious a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
I have successfully repressed these memories.

Evin's Indian Apricot Chicken
This was my first shot at an Indian recipe and it turned out great! I served over rice with broccoli on the side. It tastes fantastic and is easy and quick enough to serve on a weeknight. It's perfect as written, no changes necessary. Thanks for the recipe, Evin.

Fudgy Toffee Bars
Very rich bars, but very good too. The other reviewer who commented on the texture being similar to a 7 layer bar was right, thats what they kind of remind me of. Next time I will spray the pan or line with parchment paper as the squares stuck a bit to the sides.

Lentil Soup
As written, this soup tastes good, but it doesn't have enough flavour for me. As others say, it is a good base recipe. I replace most of the water with broth, add more carrots, celery, onion and garlic then called for (probably double really) and I also add some cumin, which goes great with lentills. I add a parmesan on top when serving. With the changes, it is very good.
