I was never a big fan of key lime pie, because of the tartness, but it is my mother-in-law's fav pie. I made this for her birthday, followed faithfully on recipe. The hardest part was squeezing the juice out from the tiny key limes (about 22)even though I used a garlic presser to help. Not to mention getting the zest out first was a big pain. I couldn't fulfill the required quantity, just shy of some because my fingers were so sore from grating the tiny fruit. Everything else after that was a walk in the par. My pie didn't turned out white like the image shown, becuase of the color of my condensed milk which was yellow. I wanted to make a double batch since I bought 2 cookie pie crusts, but with the tedious retrieving lime juice part, I stuck to making only 1. I didn't get to taste it because I gave it away as a present. My mother in law who just turn 78, told me that it is the best key lime pie she has ever tasted! She gave me a piece, and Boy! it was FANTASTIC! I might make it again if I forget how hard it was to squeeze those limes!
