My Country Style Steak

I added a can of chopped tomatoes and used beef broth instead of water. Good recipe. Someone here mentioned glazing the pan with some wine and that is a great idea I'll try next time.

Oven-Barbecued Pork Chops

The chops came out dry. I should have taken them out before the one hour. I really liked the sauce. A very nice change from the cream of mushroom type meal. Baked them in a dish instead of cast iron pan. That was the only change I made. It is worth a try. Perhaps cover them the first half of baking.

Chocolate Ganache

I used Ghirardelli milk chocolate instead of semi sweet. Perhaps because it was milk chocolate, not semi sweet I did not need quite as much cream. After referidgerating 30 minutes it thickened up enough to pour onto the cake. I put it on the chocolate pound cake III on this site. Over the top chocolate dessert if that's what you like.

Chocolate Pound Cake III

If you like a dense chocolate cake this is a great one. It's heavy and the flavor is strong. I took this up another notch by using the chocolate ganache recipe for icing. Yes, that seems over the top but you only need a sliver so it can feed a lot of people.

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Every one who ate these raved about them. I followed the recipe exactly. They raised nicely, were not too crisp and not too cake-like. I try so many cookie recipes that if they aren't fabulous I don't make them a 2nd time. I will make these again for sure.

Chicken Delicious

The chicken comes out tender and tasty. I need to add something to it or, to me, it is just another chicken in cream of mushroom soup. Play around with it to make it unique.

Mojo Roast Chicken (Pollo Asado)

It was good. I had made this with a whole chicken as I didn't want to go through the steps to cut it up. I think I'd rather have chicken peices. Used 1 tsp cumin. Otherwise used the recipe as it is. Came out tender.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Very good. I made it exactly as the recipe calls and baked it in the oven. Sounds like many reviewers put it in the crockpot but I like it slow roasted in the oven. Next time I may use a dash less chili powder and maybe an extra can of green chilis.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

I really liked them. My family took one bite and would not eat them till I added some milk. They are too used to the watery mush they serve at other places. Oh well, good recipe for those of us that enjoy real mashed potatoes.

Red Cabbage Salad II

I like it a lot but it's missing something. Can't put my finger on it. Started out without the onion powder but really improved the flavor once I added it. It's a good side dish when you want something different.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Good but was better after I put some seasoning in it. This is a lot like my clam chowder recipe but without clams. Fish or chicken could be added to this very easily. I mashed some of the potatoes while in the broth before adding other ingredients. It isn't as pretty as using a blender but was fine for me.

Tangy Red Cabbage

This isn't the flavor I was looking for. Trying to get close to the flavor from a local Restaurant, Clearman's North Woods Inn. But it was good. Definitely worth a try. Play with the oil and soy sauce before pouring onto the cabbage as your personal taste may not want as much as it calls for.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

I made half with the baking soda rinse & half without. The rinse makes them brown and shine much nicer. For me it is worth the extra step. I lowered the temp a bit and baked them longer. Still came out well. After baking I brushed melted butter on. Very good.

Bratwurst Potato Skillet

Delicious. I don't think the salt is necessary due to the soy sauce. The orange juice was nice and subtle. I added a few chopped cherry tomatoes from the garden and a dash of paprika. Good quick recipe that can be played with if you want more/different spices.

Banana Cream Pie I

I made no changes to the recipe and it turned out wonderful. Used a cookie/graham type pie shell. If you like strong banana flavor you may want to add a little banana extract as one reviewer said. For me the pie was just right.

Black Magic Cake

I baked this cake for a birthday and everybody raved about it. I could not tell the kids there was coffee added or they would not have tried it but nobody noticed any coffee taste. It just complimented the chocolate.
