I am 24 years old and am very comfortable in the kitchen. I have been cooking in the kitchen with my grandmother and mother since I was able to walk. I love everything you can do in the kitchen. I am also interested in beginning my owning catering business. I bake cakes and cookies for birthdays, graduations, and other special occasions. I am a Pharmacy Technician and have an Associate's Degree in the matter. I am currently planning for three weddings so that has entailed a lot of cooking. This weekend for instance I am making food for a bachelorette luncheon, appetizers for the day, bridal breakfast, and bridal shower, all in one weekend!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook period. I will pretty much cook just about anything. I mainly focus on the basics, such as homestyle cooking and anything with beef or pork in it since I live on a farm!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am of full German descent so pretty much anything that has to do with Bratwurst and sauerkraut. I also really enjoy italian cooking and other homestyle favorites. I cook for a crowd of about 3-5 about 4 times a week so I am always making more than we need. I grew up in a home of 8 (6 kids and 2 parents) so I learned to cook way too much very early on!!!
My cooking triumphs
Everyone always likes everything I make. I am especially well known for a good lasagna, baked steak, my mashed potatoes, twice baked potatoes, sausage, biscuits, and kraut and my infamous sugar cookies.
My cooking tragedies
I am not very good at gourmet cooking, but I am trying. If it isn't a well known kitchen item then I probably haven't cooked with it. I just started using polenta and panchetta!
