I'm a Southern ex-pat living in Canada. I love Canada, but I really miss authentic Mexican restaurants, decent fried chicken, and real sweet tea. Traditional Southern fare, Tex-Mex, and Cajun. I'm also interested in Vegan or Lenten recipes for fasting. As a child, some of my favorites were Mama's fried salmon patties and chicken 'n' dumplin's. I rubbed olive oil, rosemary, and garlic into a leg of lamb, and it turned out fall-off-the-bone tender. My husband, who is a lamb-loving Serbian, said it made him want to slap his mama. Jambalaya in the crock pot. I forgot to rinse the shrimp before I added them at the end, and it made the stew, and my house, stink to high-heaven.
