Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
Of course I didn't follow the recipe exactly, well, really, besides the chicken! I stuffed the bird with oranges (which I usually do for my Thanksgiving turkey). The juice from the oranges makes the meat very tender and flavorful. I chopped garlic and onions and places them in the bottom of the slow cooker. Melted Butter over the top of the bird then seasoned with pepper, garlic salt, basil, etc. And roasted it for about 8 hours on low. AWESOME!

Garlic Broccoli Spears

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
It was pretty good. . you really need to be careful that you don't over cook the broccoli because it will be all dried out. . make sure you use enough olive oil to coat. . and keep an eye on it while cooking. I'd make this again. . (I baked this in the oven instead of boiling it. . baked on 350 for about 20 min).

Green Tomato Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
This is one of the best spice cakes I've ever had. The tomatoes almost taste like apples! Very good. It doesn't need frosting but I used an orange glaze over the top the second time I made it. You have to try this! BTW: I did not use the walnuts. . . I didn't have them!

Good and very easy. . . we always have different Jellies and Jams on hand so doing a few different kinds wasn't a problem. If your looking for an easy different approach to french toast try this! ( or another good one is Blueberry french toast casserole listed on this site)!

Beer Lime Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I used Labatt Blue beer for this recipe . . I probably should have used more lime juice. I let marinate for about 3 hours. I just didn't get the flavor I was hoping for. It was ok. . . but I won't make it again.

Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
This was great. People were complaining that it was to gooey and didn't firm up. . but I had no problem. I used Italian bread from you local grocery store bakery. The crispy crust from the bread in the casserole was great. I considered not making the blueberry sauce but I'm glad I did. This recipe was perfect for family that came in from out of town. I baked it in the morning and served it with Baked Bacon. That way the bacon was done fast and I didn't wake anyone up! This was fantastic!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
These were very good. I did add some brown sugar in addition to the white sugar. I didn't measure how much I put in. . probably about 1/4 cup or so. At first I had a problem with the cookies being to soft but I realized that I made them way to large. To get the right consistancy make sure the cookies are very small, I would say no bigger than a Tablespoon then push with a fork. Make sure you give them enough cooling time. After I got the size down these were very easy and good. A sweet treat in a fix!

Aunt Ro's Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
These were OUTSTANDING! I only used one can of the butterbeans. Someone else wrote that they didn't use them b/c they didn't like the way they looked. I said the same thing but make sure you DO use them cause they were very good. I took them to a mother's day cook out. . . Everyone was fighting over the last of the pot!!! No Joke! But they completely filled my crock pot so make sure you have enough people around to eat them! They definately won't go to waste. Great for Memorial Day!!! Easy too!!!

Country Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
This was something I did not care for. I used red onion. . which I use in everything but the color from the onion cooked out and It looked like slimy worms! ha. . The taste was a little bland as well. Next time, I'll use the ones from a box. They're much better! I also had a problem with the cooking time of the potatoes. I cut them very thin too. Probably won't try again . .

Roasted Asparagus with Shallots

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
I do this recipe a little different. I use Basalmic vinegar instead of red wine ( i used what i had) I also added basil, chopped onion and garlic and garlic salt. Towards the end of cooking I put a small amount of melted butter over the top to brown up alittle. Delicious!

Best Grilled Margarita Chicken... Ever!

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
This was AWESOME! I made it over two weeks ago and the boyfriend is still talking about how amazing it was. Says' that the flavor was never ending. I didn't have cilantro on hand so i didn't use any. I didn't use onion salt either. I also didn't have any honey so I used apricot preserves. i figured it would help glaze the chicken and I was right! I added some basil and chopped garlic to the marinade. I also threw in some orange and lime slices into the marinade and grilled them to garnish. The grilled fruit was even good! I served with a roasted balsalmic asparugus i found on the site. Make sure you let marinade for a full 24 hours, especially if the chicken breasts are large. I also only marinaded 2 chicken breasts, not 6. and I guessed on the measurments. I know that I used Half of a large container of Daily's Margarita Mix. Go Big or Go home but this recipe was FREAKIN' AWESOME.

Brenda 's Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Lasagna was very good. I added sauted chopped mushrooms for texture. I thought that it could have been more cheesy. I probably would have added more mozzarella. I also added some extra seasoning (basil, garlic salt. . ) Over all I thought that It was a little bland but the boyfriend told me that It was better than BRAVO'S lasagna!!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Excellent!!!!!! I did make some alternations. I did not use such a large roast so mine was a little smaller. I turned it on low about half way through the cooking time. I added the carrots and onion. I also added garlic but I did not add the potatoes. I made garlic mashed with it instead. The Carrots were amazing!!! My boyfriend Loved it! He ate all of it! I also added some extra seasoning but it was the best pot roast I've ever had. Easy too!!!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This cheesecake was the best I've ever had. I was so excited that I kept looking at it so It did crack but It still tasted great. I was told that if you fill the broiler pan with water and place it inside your oven while you bake your cheesecake it will keep it from cracking. I haven't had the chance to try it out though. If your looking for a cheesecake to impress, THIS IS IT!
