I am a 22 yr. old college student. I grew up watching my mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother cook all the time. I would go to my grandmothers house every weekend and we would always cook something. I love to bake desserts but I have really started to expand my horizons and start cooking new things. My boyfriend doesn't eat beef so I've started cooking a lot of other meats, usually chicken. I enjoy trying new recipes and challenging myself with new foods and flavors. One of my favorite things to cook for me and my friends and family is Italian Smoked Sausage grilled with jalapeno peppers and yellow onions. I typically season it with a little salt and pepper (black and cayenne) and crushed red pepper flakes. I also enjoy making chicken pot pie, any type of spaghetti and anything that's hot and spicy! I love cooking big meals for holidays or just a family get together in the summer. Anytime when I can share my food with other people is a good time for me! I enjoy grilling out with my friends here at school. I live off campus so a lot of my friends live in the dorm. Usually on the weekends you can find us hanging out on my deck and me by the grille! I tried to make corn pudding for my boyfriend once. I had never seen it or tried it myself so it was a disaster to say the least. It was really dry and not sweet at all (which is how he likes it). Being the wonderful boyfriend that he is, he ate a bunch of it! I haven't tried to make it again but I intend on trying it soon!
