Country Green Beans
WOW!!! These were Delicious!!! I made them for Thanksgiving this year, praying that they'd turn out as good as all the reviews said they did. Yup! They did. :o) I used real bacon pieces, down the salad aisle. I also took the advice of using Chicken Broth instead of water. Someone in my family came up to me as I was cooking the onion, garlic & butter & they were SHOCKED at what looked like a TON of onions! I coarsely cup up 1 1/4 big onions, and much to his delight - it was DELICIOUS!!! I will make this recipe 100 times again and I will look forward to eating them on every single occasion!!! Thank you for sharing your yummy "Country Green Bean" recipe. I loved it! (I doubled this recipe for our Thanksgiving crowd. I threw the cut beans into already boiling water for 4 minutes, removed them from the hot water & shocked them with a cold water rinse. I guess it's supposed to bring out the bright green color and add to their flavor. I've never "blanched" anything before. A tip from a coworker of mine.)
