About this Cook
I am a single mother with a 1 year old son who LOVES to eat. If I eat it, he loves it. I love to explore new foods and tastes.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, and beef are my favorite meats to cook. And we both(my son and I) Love all the vegetables. Are favorite is potatoes, they are so changeable.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my family gets together for the holidays it is process that takes 2 months to plan and a week and a half to get started. But i love every minute of it.
My cooking triumphs
I personally think I mastered roasting chicken. Lately I add slices of orange to give it a sweet taste to the meat. I also baste it, like you do with turkey. When my mom taught me how to roast them, she just said put it in and forget about it.. instead i kept basting it every 15 minutes and it tasted just like rotisserie.
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to use one single ingredient through out the whole dinner. I had a new step dad.... I didn't know he didn't like walnuts. I put walnuts in everything. I ground them up and mixed it with flour and rolled pices of steak and fried it. Put it in the gravy and mashed potatoes.. the green beans and even put it in the brownies and ice cream for dessert. My dad ate a tv dinner that night for dinner. and I cried. =]
