Simple White Cake

Cube Steak Parmesan

Ok recipe for cube steak. I will make again, but with chicken. We just don't really like cube steaks, but the breading was delicious. I did also use sauce from a jar, and that was very good.

Impossible Coconut Pie II

This was not that good. It had good flavor and the crust was good, but mine was like a pan full of scrambled eggs. I don't know what I did wrong. My grandmother used to make an impossible pie and it was nothing like this. I will probably not try again. It would have been so easy had it worked out.

Lemon Pie Bars

I don't know what happened, but my bars were too lemony. Almost bitter. I had to throw them out. They also didn't set up as well they were almost runny. I followed the recipe exactly. No changes. Maybe my lemons were just not good.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

A little bland. I ended up adding a half a packet of chili seasoning to the soup because it was just tomato flavor. My family ate it and liked it, however I would not make it again following the recipe.

Simple Scones

This was a good moist scone recipe. I always add white chocolate chips to my scones though, just to sweeten them a bit. I also did not have quite enough sour cream so I substituted strawberry flavored cream cheese. This was a very subtle flavor, but surprisingly good!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

This is a great recipe. I have been trying to do something with the cube steaks we get every year when we butcher our beef. This is it. I usually make this about every 10 days and my family loves it. It is very quick and very easy.

Slow-Cooked Steak Fajitas

These were good and they made an easy dinner even easier. I used some rib steaks that we don't normally eat because they are too fatty and tough. They turned out so tender and the flavor was good. It did seem like the longer they cook the less spice there was so I had to add more seasonings close to the end.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

This was really pretty good. The stuffing did soak up all the chicken soup so it seemed a little dry. The chicken was so tender and the other flavors were great. I will definately make again.

Sourdough Bread

This bread baked up well with a nice texture and a chewy crust. It did not however taste anything like sourdough. It was also very hard to stir in the flour with just a spoon. The dough was very sticky and I had to make mine in loaf pans.

Cabbage Rolls II

This was good. I did not salt the meat, and I should have. With a little salt and pepper right on top, it was great. We ate the leftovers too. Also very easy. I did double the sauce as suggested in other reviews.

Slow-Cooked Corn Chowder

This is good soup. Very easy in the slow cooker. I didn't have frozen hashbrowns, so just threw some dehydrated shredded potatoes that come in a big can. I did add a little cayenne pepper for just a little spice. I did have to salt it a little to our taste.

Microwave Raisin Bread Pudding

This was overall a good recipe. It is almost as good as one with heavy cream, real butter and a long baking time. You do need to mix a little of the hot milk mix with the egg to avoid bits of cooked egg. I also had bits of hard dry bread on the top like maybe I used too much? I also made a quick sauce of caro syrup maple syrup some spiced rum and some butter which I poured over the top. This helped with the dryness. I will absolutely make this again.

Alfredo Sauce

The flavor of the sauce was good, but I did the idiot thing of adding the cheese at too high of heat. It clumped together. My 11 year old ate it anyway. Done correctly, it is probably a great sauce.

Beefy Spanish Rice

This was pretty good. I used brown rice and it took a little longer to cook... I also used a can of diced tomato and no ketchup. I liked it on tortilla chips. My husband ate it, but didn't comment on it one way or another. I will probably make it again, just not very often.
