I made these this morning and they were excellent. I changed nothing. I used some homemade bread I had made yesterday. The bread recipe is the Amish White Bread recipe from this site. YUM! YUM! I hate french toast too! I think these would be great with some chopped sugared pecans on top. I'll try that next time!

The only thing i changed on this recipe was to reduce the sugar to 1/2 cup. I turned out good for my first attempt. I need to learn how to form a better loaf though. Yummy bread!

My husband who doesn't like beef stroganoff loved this! I did what some other people had recommended and doubled the sauce part of the recipe. I also sliced up a bunch of mushrooms with it and topped it with some fresh cut parsley. Really good! Thanks
