The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
I confess I haven't tried this recipe but if I do, I will add 1/2 to 1 tsp. of almond extract. That is the secret ingredient to make sugar cookies spectacular!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
so easy and so good. I added 3 cloves of garlic like so many others suggested. I also used gluten free flour so I could enjoy the recipe.

Gluten-Free White Bread for Bread Machines

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
This recipe turned out great! I have bought many gluten free breads (none were eatable) and made several from mixes. This bread was wonderful and the best I have tried. The only substitution I made was buckwheat flour for the soy (I don't care for soy). Several days later the bread was still moist and delicious.

Make-Ahead Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Even without the soup mix and the mushrooms, my husband and son loved this. I didn't have beef broth but had beef base. I mixed 1 1/2 Tablespoons with a quart of water and added in place of the 3 cans of broth. I didn't add the cornstarch either. Red wine is an acceptable substitution for marsala.

Mango Sorbet

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
This is really good sorbet. I added about a tsp of grated lime peel to the simple syrup while it cooked. I also added a little more (about 1/4 c.) sugar. Made this the 2nd time with 1 cup of strawberries. Wonderful!

I made these gluten free with my own gluten free all purpose blend. They were wonderful. I added about 1 T. almond extract and rolled in sugar. I will make these again!

Vanilla Ice Cream II

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I cut this recipe in half using 3 eggs, 3 cans evaporated whole milk, 1 whole can whole milk sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 T. vanilla for more vanilla flavor, and 1/2 whole milk. It was amazingly creamy and had the best consistency frozen. Not too hard. My husband said it was the best of the 3 recipes I tried. A definite keeper!

Banana Honey Yogurt Ice

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I added 1 oz of Brandy to keep it from freezing so hard. I also doubled the honey and added about 1/3c. of pure maple syrup along with about 1/2 c. chopped salted almonds. Not a low calorie dessert but low fat. I left out the lemon juice.

I followed the suggestion and added about a T. of balsamic vinegar and sweet potatoes. It was wonderful. I will also use this as a recipe for just beets.

Cheesy Baked Cauliflower

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
my family loved this. I used 2T mayo, 1T country dijon mustard, 1T apricot preserves, 1/2tsp. garlic salt, and 1/2tsp onion powder and mixed those together. I also steamed for less time-approx 10-15 min. I substituted white cheddar. I did use the butter called for. This is a great basic recipe to be creative with. My family will definitely eat cauliflower now.
