About this Cook
I have been married for 31 years and have been cooking for all of them and then some!
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE to bake...especially breads, cakes and (cookie)bars. I would much rather bake a dessert than make a dinner;)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always make a traditional Thanksgiving like my mom did. We also love to make and eat lots of Lebanese food. My husband is from Lebanon and he is really good at taste-testing to see how authentic the recipes are.
My cooking triumphs
The first Thanksgiving meal after my mother passed away I was totally intimidated by making her giblet gravy. I had watched her and helped her for years but I never had made it solo until that year. She must have been sitting on my shoulder because it turned out great! I was thrilled to know that I could do justice to her handed down cooking skills!
My cooking tragedies
The very first caked I attempted to bake~ it was aound St. Patrick's day so I used a boxed cake mix and green food coloring. (It even sounds nasty!!) The cake fell and was a hard as a rock! You could have used it as a weapon! Fortunately I didn't give up on baking after that awful experience and I have found my happiest times are when I am making bread or baking sweets to share with my family and friends.

Overnight French Toast II
OMG...this is delicious!! I subbed real maple syrup for the corn syrup and the whole kitchen smelled delish when it was cooking. I think that this would be another great Christmas morning goodie! We didn't have problems getting the leftovers out of the pan. Reheated them the next day in the microwave! Try this...it's great!!!!

Sweet and Crunchy Salad
This is an excellent salad! You don't need to soak the noodles as long as it says...they get softer when they are added to the salad plus the dressing. The first time I made it I followed the recipe exactly. The next time, I cut the seasoning package down a little to cut the sodium. It is worth trying!

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin
This is excellent! I mixed all of the ingredients in a ziploc then threw the tenderloins in the bag and threw it all in the frig overnight. Only had to grill it to complete my meal the next day. It was yummy! The leftovers are delish as well. Could use them on a salad ;)!
