Spooky Witches Fingers
A couple of days before our work had a pig out table for Halloween, I told everyone I was bringing "finger food." When I offered them the "finger food," most really laughed. They were really knobby, gorey, green fingers! Some friends refused to try them at all, they were too gross! One skeptic did try them and was really surprised at how good they tasted, she told me twice. One woman had made her awesome vampire's costume and I told her that it was a "2 thumbs up" costume and then I opened the napkin with 2 of the fingers. She laughed so hard. Needless to say, they were a hit with both the brave and the squeemish. Next year they might not make it out of the house, my family loved them, too. Thanks for such a fun to make and eat treat. . . and trick.

Uncle Wynn's Bread Machine Rye
My daughter's on a Low Oxalate Diet because of kidney stones and rye bread is allowed. I've tried to find a recipe that works and this is the first one that didn't fall during baking. I did make some changes first: no caraway seed - not on diet, cut out cornmeal and raised the bread flour the same amount. I also didn't have any gluten to add so raising the bread flour helped cover that. It was tasty and quite moist.
