I'm in my middle 40's. I have a loving husband that I have been with for 19 years and counting! I also have 3 wonderful children. They are all teenagers! Two are driving...(wheesh)!!! We have 3 dogs and we all love them...9-23-09 Update: I am a substitute lunch lady for the school distr. in town too!
My favorite things to cook
I Love to BBQ and Grill and the family seems to love it as much as I do! :] I pretty much cook everything. I love to try new things... Like out of cookbooks and such, although some do fail miserably! i keep trying anyway.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving Dinner. Which always includes oyster stuffing (delicious) I ONLY make it at Thanksgiving. My family recommends it. I make mashed potatoes that my mother-in-law taught me, and she's been making them that way for YEARS! They are delectable! :D
My cooking triumphs
I could say that my green chicken enchiladas never fail. They are pretty triumphant. hahaha
My cooking tragedies
There have been some downers, and heartaches. I really can't name them all but one was one that I found in a cooking mag. that my family HATED. I will never do it again... but I can't seem to remember what it was... and I don't think I want to!!! I make a mean grilled pizza and am working on my bread making skills thanks to this site! I am forever addicted to the people and recipes on here! OXOXO ):

Evin's Indian Apricot Chicken
Evin, you my friend are a star! I had a hard time finding the Garam Marsala but I prevailed at Cost Plus. I have never used it before and boy does it smell wonderful and tastes better! I made this with pork chops. I seasoned them a few hours before i cooked them. I sauteed the onions and set them aside.I added them back to the hot tub with the chops at the end. The sauce is terrific with garlic bread, for the soppin:)!! Thank you soo much Evin! Really YummO

Sausage and Bow-tie Pasta Florentine
I made this the other night with collard greens instead of the spinach. I sprinkled a little Parmesan cheese on the top. It was very satisfying and rich. I would like to try this with tortellini next time. Thank You for a really nice dinner!

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast
I have made this for several years and it is just about the Best way to make roast beef!! This method does not make the meat real salty. It has a nice salt flavor and with added herbs such as rosemary, it is truly a lovely dish for Christmas or any special occasion. Thank You Marbalet! I will of course do this again and again!
