About this Cook
I am a 30 year old wife and mother of three girls. I have been cooking for quite some time, but nothing spectacular. I have been a Stay-at-home mother for 4 years and I'm really, really, really starting to feel antsy. I have been obsessed with cooking for about a year, torturing my children by making them eat seafood and a lot of dishes containing spinach. I've seen this website a lot when I googled a specific recipe but I've never explored it. It is absolutely fantastic! I am in love! I can NOT wait to start cooking and taking photos! Yay!
My favorite things to cook
If I have the proper tools, ingredients, and space, there isn't anything I don't LOVE to cook...oh, and time. I do a lot of Italian dishes. Lately, I've been baking like crazy. So much so, that my Wii Fit is telling me to stop.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmothers are both excellent cooks in their own ways. My paternal grandmother can cook ANYTHING beautifully, but she never really made it a family project. Not until I was married did I even think to ask how she made something, my husband told me I HAD to get some of her recipes. My maternal grandmother can cook any dessert like a pro. Non-sweet food, she really doesn't care about. On visits it wasn't unusual to have the same Sloppy Joe and canned corn meal for a week. She is famous for her desserts. Especially different variations of fudge, which, although a fairly east dessert, I've never tasted any as good. When family is around for holidays we ask her to make some and no one ever lets it set, they're scooping it up and getting disgustingly messy, even the older folks. Yet, no real shared traditions in my family.
My cooking triumphs
I've made some good things. Italian dishes, I do the best. I love all of my seafood dishes, but my family (husband) is a bologna, hot dog, and frozen burrito kind of guy so it's hard to get any opinions from my family. I will fix 'em.
My cooking tragedies
Hahaha! Tragedies! Well, I've been known to get "too creative" with some things.

Chicken Pot Pie IX
I made this almost exactly. I added potatoes and next time I will add more flavor. I also made it in a very deep dish, now that I know that it will hold shape well I will split the recipe and make two more shallow pies. Very good!
