I have owned a pet grooming, boarding and training kennel for almost 30 years along with my life partner, my husband.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make fresh salads and pasta but I am known for my Rum Cake. I also love to work with Puff Pastry making sweet and savory dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
German Chicken and dumplings is my favorite family recipes but I'd have to say my family loves my southwest beans and rice as well.
My cooking triumphs
Improving and mastering the best Rum Cake most folks have ever tasted. Some tell me I should try and sell it. But then I tell them it wouldn't be as special.
My cooking tragedies
Christmas dinner, 1993 for family and friends. It was a TOTAL loss and one dinner those folks will never let me live down. It's ok because I've improved 1000% since then :-)

Cheater Pot Pie
I've made a similar recipe but instead of biscuits, I use refrigerator crescent rolls and to really be quick and easy try plain old veg-all. Use the chicken soup, milk and canned chicken as called for. I'm telling you, quick, easy AND good!

Hogs and Kisses
I thought because I adore chocolate AND bacon that I would love this savory/sweet treat but it was not the recipe I hoped it would be. A variation on savory/sweet bacon in to fry your bacon very slow and before it's done, drain the fat and then add (approx. 1/2 cup per lb bacon) honey and continue cooking until the bacon is well done. You want to cook this slow so the bacon doesn't crisp up but stays chewy. Great for breakfast or on top of salads.
