About this Cook
I've been married for 10 years and have 2 children. I love to cook/bake/make candy, especially for others. It's such a great feeling to see people enjoying your creations.
My favorite things to cook
Anything homemade really. Growing up my family was very big on making things from scratch. We are Polish, so making all of the ethnic foods are a must...even my kids love doing it. I love to make creative cakes and sweet treats. For all the Holidays, I try to make something neat for the kids.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I get together one night in mid December and have a cookie baking marathon throughout the night and weeee hours of the morning. We also make different flavored truffles, chocolate covered pretzels, and different candies for the Holidays. We try to make the traditional things you expect at Christmas, but also try to add something new. Everything is such a hit with everyone that our "traditional" list gets bigger every year!
My cooking triumphs
When I first got married, even though around cooking all my life and knowing how to, I was very intimidated having to do it everyday for my husband. It's a rarity for me not to be cooking. I would also have to say our truffles...they are enjoyed by everyone that eats them and I've been asked to make them for special occassions for others. I love it!
My cooking tragedies
Can't say I've really had any. Maybe burning something on the grill and having a grease fire.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I
This was really good. I'm not one that jumps up and down for beef stew, but this was great! I will make it again for the family. I did make a few adjustments though. I was out of beef stock, so used a package of dried beef onion soup. I also used frozen mixed veggies, just added in the last hour or so of cooking. Wonderful on a chilly day!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
I must say that this is the best roll out sugar cookie dough I have ever used. Very easy to roll out with little hassle ... AND ... it makes a lot of cookies! This is a keeper!

Chicken Flautas
This recipe is definitely a good base to start for flautas and a great way to use up left over chicken. I did make some alterations to it though due to not having picante sauce or cumin at the time. I happened to have fresh homamde salsa on hand and used chipotle taco seasoning. Since I was using left over chicken, it was thigh meat instead of breast meat. They were wonderful!!! The meat was very tender and had a great taste. I will be making these again!
