About this Cook
I'm a pretty simple 24-year-old, I recently regained my interest in cooking and I'm loving every moment. I love cooking for my boyfriend of over five years, I am thankful that he enjoys being a guinea pig ! I sit at a desk ALL day so when I come home I enjoy getting my hands, and kitchen, nice a dirty. Over the winter I'm hoping to learn how to sew. Which will be a challenge since I get to teach myself! :D
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, it's a wonderful stress reliever. I recently learned how to make homemade pie so I have been going crazy trying to raise my skill level. I also just purchased a slower cooker, this is a whole new world to me. How did I live without this for so long? I absolutely love learning to cook new things (which isn't hard when you don't know much). I just need to accept the fact that every single thing I cook isn't going to be perfect on the first try!
My favorite family cooking traditions
TV Dinners... Haha I know a few Thanksgiving recipes from my Grandmother, I always loved cooking with her all day Thanksgiving when I was a child. She owned a home with efficiencies, so we could cook with 3 stoves! Only now do I realize what a luxury that was! Then again empty efficiencies = extra roommates.
My cooking triumphs
Apple Pie, Chili, Chili Baked Chicken & SALSA!
My cooking tragedies
Boston Creme Pie! Grrrr...

The Ultimate Chili
This recipe is great, this was my first meal ever cooked in a slower cooker and it came out perfect. Although next time I prepare this I will be adding more spice! I did modify the recipe slightly by only using 1 can each of the kidney beans and stewed tomatoes, also I added 1/4 a sauteed onion, 1 spoon full of diced chilis & 1 spoon full of jalapeƱos. I did this because I could not find "Mexican-Style" Stewed tomatoes.

Garden Pasta Salad
This recipe is a big time saver! Although it did take a little bit to prep, the work was worth it. I made about 2 pounds of this pasta salad last weekend and it turned out perfect. It was nice to be able to get one of the sides ready before the holiday weekend. The next time I make this I will be adding more vegetables, also I did serve the dressing and Parmesan cheese on the side as other reviewers suggested.

Margarita Grilled Chicken
This is a great recipe; it is an inexpensive way to improve a simple meal. Especially if you're a margarita lover like myself!
