I am a married mother of one soon-to-be-born daughter, one big dog and four awesome cats. Usually work full time at a non-profit, but currently on maternity leave.
My favorite things to cook
Anything easy and preferably cheesy...lasagna, tacos, burgers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My introduction to cooking was through my maternal grandmother. She made no frills, simple but great tasting dishes. Some of my favorites: lamb chops with salt, pepper, and rosemary, broiled red snapper with butter, breadcrumbs and lemon and canned tuna salad with chunky tomatoes.
My mom on the other hand was the "queen of shake 'n' bake". We ate alot of boxed mac and cheese, rice-a-roni and plain old spaghetti with marinara.
My cooking triumphs
Last year's Thanksgiving turkey. Brined and stuffed with sage butter...eating it was a religious experience.
One friend loves my green olive tea sandwiches.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count. Though the great semi-frozen turkey disaster of 2007 stands out. Oh and the time I cooked chicken in a tupperware container (I was 8 years old, give me a break!).
