About this Cook
I am the wife to the most wonderful husband and a busy mom to two boys and two girls ranging in age from 17 to 3. I work every Friday as a mammographer at a local hospital. I like to read, decorate the house, be outside and go to the movies but mostly going on dates with my husband!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything that can be put together out of a normally stocked pantry! I am always trying new recipes which my husband likes but my kids aren't always as excited. I really enjoy baking for others.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love being at my parent's home and cooking with my mom and sisters it is such a fun way to be busy and spend time together. I try and cook with one of my children at least once a week.
My cooking triumphs
Baked goods I get so many compliments, I usually send something to work with my husband each week and they all complain they will get too fat!
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving dinner away from home...the temp. setting on the oven in our rental home was off so the turkey took for ever to cook and I used one of my mom's best "not written down" recipes for sweet potatoe casserole but it ended up as sweet potatoe soup YIKES!

Lemon Glazed Cake
I am going to do something I totally hate that is change the recipe and rate it b/c then it really isn't the posted recipe you are rating but your recipe anyway I never have luck baking homemade cakes especially bundt cakes so I used a lemon cake mix and made the glaze as posted. I let the cake cool for about 10 minutes in the pan than turned it onto a wire rack I put serving plate under the rack to catch the drips and spooned the glaze over top there is way too much glaze but that could be b/c I used a cake mix anyway I just kept respooning the dripped glaze over the cake. Served it at a family bbq and got rave reviews the cake is so good thanks for the recipe.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad
This salad was good and passed the Sunday family dinner test...all that said I did just a few things different, I sliced the strawberries it doesn't really say what to do with them and I put the strawberry/jello mix in the freezer until the jello was almost set...hope this helps.
