I make this every holiday and goes great with bbq. Always a hit!!! I have always made as written as well.

These are great!So fast and easy!! I've made them as listed w/ a.p. flour. Then again w/ self rising,using veg oil instead of butter, (added butter flavor extract 1/2 tsp) 1 c. choc chips and the nuts.They turned out moister and less cake like. Oil, and the additional chocolate made the differrence more than self rising vs a.p. I think. Try these!
