Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Holy Cow. I love these. I did do a couple of things differently: I use 1 cup of soft white winter wheat flour (yes, I'm "one of those" who mills her own...) and 1 cup of all purpose. I cut the white sugar to 1/3c I added 1/2 t. anise extract I used 1 cup of mini choc. chips. As far as method, I really melt my sugar down with the butter, almost as if I were making candy, that way the sugar doesn't "grit" in the finished cookies. It makes it a longer process, just because you then have to make sure your sugar mixture cools thoroughly before adding the eggs, etc. So now, I have "my recipe" and will probably never use another one! Beautiful.
