About this Cook
I am a transplant from Ft. Lauderdale FL to Tampa in 1999. I have a wonderful man in my life who enjoys cooking as well. I am semi-retired and going back to school this year to study Behavioral Health and hope to land a full time or part-time job.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy watching the Cooking Network and Fox News; and enjoy new dishes from Rachael Ray and the Barefoot Contessa. Each weekend I try a new main dish and dessert.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey at Thanksgiving...this year I want to try a Honey Glazed Smoked Turkey instead of the traditional baked turkey.
My cooking triumphs
I made a cheesecake wedding cake for my best friend as a wedding gift. It served 50 people and was decorated with buttercream frosting and fresh orchids (another of her friends offered the orchids as a wedding gift). It was both beautiful and delicious.
My cooking tragedies
My latest tragedy was a chiffon pie that fell and Mexican rice that I attempted to make with brown rice. The end result was embarrassing as we took this to a Cooking Club Mexican themed party.

Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich
My favorite things to eat! Omitted the mayo, lettuce and cheese. Replaced the bread with a toasted bagel and regular bacon with crisp turkey bacon - layered open faced leftover turkey breast, organic avocado, turkey bacon, vine ripe tomatoe and lots of cracked black pepper. Significant other thinks it looked strange to say the least as he munched away on his traditional hot turkey leftovers...but what does he know about good eats! It was exceptional! ...think I will do it again!

Apple Pecan Cornbread Dressing
This is a very delightful dressing but for my taste it needs a little more spice/salt. Next time I will add a little more salt to enhance the flavors and possibly more fresh parsley from my garden. I will make this dressing again. Thanks for the recipe.

Libby's(R) Famous Pumpkin Pie
An old time classic that I made this year with the input of Muscleman. I made exactly as recipe indicated except I thought I had ground cloves (they were whole) so so I added a little Nutmeg in its place. Less spices do enhance the flavor or the pie. Delicious and a nice ending to a turkey dinner. Thanks all!
