Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I didn't have yogurt so I used 3/4 cup low fat sour cream. I also forgot to add an egg (recently became a new mommy and was having a particularly difficult day!). I realized my mistake only after filling half of my muffin liners. These turned out amazing! They were fluffy, moist, and had a wonderful flavor. My husband, who is usually not a fan of banana flavored treats, loved these!

Gooey Butter Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I followed someone else's advice and used almond extract in the crust instead of vanilla. Very yummy! It definitely tasted better on the second and third day. My husband took some in to his coworkers and they all loved it, too.

Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
These definitely tasted better the second day and even better the third day. I was a little disappointed with the flavor of the cheesecake. I topped each with a creamcheese whipped topping (instead of cherries) and sprinkled them with mini chocolate chips which helped. I probably won't make these again, though.

Bacon Cheese Treats

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
I make these slightly different. I pull apart the crescent sections then cut each in half. I spread them with onion and chive cream cheese mixed crumbled bacon. Then I roll them up into mini crescent rolls and bake. Delicious.

Pumpkin Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Very simple and tasty. I halved the recipe and used 1 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice and an additional 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. I baked it in the Graham Cracker Crust I from this site.

Simple Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
These were pretty good. I cut back on the butter, orange juice, and sugar a little, yeilding less syrup-- but it turned out very well. I baked these for 20 minutes uncovered then for 5 minutes with a cover and served them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I will probably add a little vanilla extract to the syrup next time.

No Fail Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Delicious! The only change I made to the recipe was instead of using lemon extract I used almond, as others had suggested. Though I do not usually like box cake mix, I really liked this recipe. Tasted great warm out of the oven and my husband loved it!

Beef Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Quite good. I made a few minor changes to the recipe. I added onion and garlic powder to the gravy and had to bake the pie at 400F for 40 mins. My husband loved it, I prefer my pot pies with more gravy. I would make this again.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I saw this recipe in an eating for pregnancy cookbook. The only difference was the recipe in the book didn't call for butter to be drizzled on top. This dish is quite tasty. I halve then pound the chicken breast until they are about 1/2 an inch thick and I usually cover the dish for part of the baking time.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I made some changes--used Kikkoman teriyaki sauce instead of soy sauce. I also used boneless skinless chicken breast. I pounded them until they were about 1/2 an inch thick and poked holes in them using a fork. I poured the sauce on top and baked them at 350 F for 50mins. It was quite tasty.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Delicious! I made a few changes-- didn't have chunky apple sauce so used the regular kind. I also added 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract to the batter. Like others suggested I used one and a half packets of oatmeal for the bread and I combined the remaining oatmeal with butter, cinnamon, sugar, and flour to make a streusel topping. I only baked the bread for 50 mins. Smelled great in the oven!

One Egg Lemon Pound Cake

Very good pound cake, with a few changes. I add a couple tablespoons of lemon juice to the batter and after it's finished baking I top it with a lemon glaze while it is still warm. Very tasty!

Salsa Chicken

Good recipe. I cut each breast in half then put them in a gallon size plastic bag. I pounded each piece until they were between a quarter to half an inch thick. Using a fork I poked holes in each piece before adding the taco seasoning. I also added extra cheese. Very tender and tasty.

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
The only changes I made to this recipe were to add some crushed pineapple, like some other reviewers did, and a little less soy sauce. These pork chops were tender, but they lacked flavor. I only tasted a hint of the teriyaki; other than that, they were just salty.

Garlic Chicken

This recipe was just OK. It was quick and easy, but pretty bland. There are so many other chicken breast recipes that are just better. I probably won't make this again.

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

These were very good. I added about 1/4 cup of milk as well as 1tsp of van. extract and 1T of lemon juice. These are very tasty with fresh blueberries, but I liked them even more with sliced strawberries. Great flavor and very filling!

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
These are really tasty. Some reviewers said they added extra olive oil and ended up with soggy breading. Just use the 2T as directed. I have also found it helps to bake them on a rack. Also, for four pork chops, you really only need one egg and you can cut back on the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.
