The Mckenzie's
About this Cook
I'm a Brit currently residing in Utah with my US military husband. We have 2 boys and have been married 13yrs despite my terrible domestic abilities.
My favorite things to cook
Italian dishes. Old-fashioned cakes. Things that don't require obscure ingredients or metric translation.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my in-laws come to stay my family knows they will be eating well because my mother-in-law is a fantastic cook. She has shared all her recipes with me but, well, no one makes it quite like Mom/Grandma.
My cooking triumphs
I make a very good, quite unique Spaghetti Bolognese. I might share it later ;-)
My cooking tragedies
Should I alphabetically list these by year, haha! Tofu Sloppy Joes, anyone?

Party Pinwheels
To be fair I rarely add salt to anything I make and don't eat very much salty food so perhaps I am more sensitive to the taste of salt. Anyone else like me will definitely find this unpalatably salty. It literally tasted like I had added 4 tablespoons of salt to the cream cheese. In my attempt to salvage the double batch I had started I added sour cream. It toned down the salt but left the mixture too wet for the wraps. I quit while I was ahead and used a vegetable garden cheese spread and invented my own wrap instead. Thank you for the inspiration though :-)

Macaroni Pie
I too found the cheese flavor lacking, however I made this in order to use up some ingredients and make a decent dinner for my kids and both objectives were met. In fact my boys say it's really good and they like it better than Kraft. They rated this recipe as 4/5, so there you go! I changed the recipe to feed 2 but there was enough for me and a light snack for my husband who said it's good.
