a great recipe as is (- I usually follow the recipe exactly with great results) , and is easily changed to whatever is available. - once I substituted 1/2 tsp almond extract for the vanilla, and added 1 tsp each cardamom and chinese five spice

My dogs will no longer accept any treat but these!! That says it all!! I did slightly alter the ingredients, based on their preferences: 3c. wheat flour, 1c. cornmeal (makes for a crunchier biscuit - not just hard *careful, some dogs are sensitive to corn), and veggie broth instead of water.--I had to add to my previous review - I added about 1 1/2 c. water in addition to the broth -this made it thin enough for me to use my cookie press with the filling tip. It sped up the process, lightened up the biscuits, and increased the yield. it's a win/win/win!!

Very flavorful!! Basmati is mandatory. Also, I used ghee instead of the butter. Because I only had ground cloves and cardamom, I used 1/4 tsp. and 1 tsp. respectively. Also, I knew my saffron wasn't very strong so I increased it to 1 1/2 tsp. and added ~ 3/4 tsp. of tumeric as well. This filled my house with a wonderful aroma and it went very well with 'Steamed Lemon Grass Crab Legs' and a nice spinach salad!! Thanks for the recipe!
