I grew up in Oklahoma and learned to cook the old fashioned way with my Mom, Grandma, and Aunt. I'm a grandma of 3 little boys and enjoy having my family altogether as often as possible.
My favorite things to cook
Italian suppers, Chicken Fried Steak suppers, delicious salads of all kinds, cream pies and other yummy fattening desserts
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a cornbread dressing recipe that has been passed down in the family that we use every year at Thanksgiving
My cooking triumphs
I make a bread that we serve with our Italian suppers that is to die for! It is very similar to the bread served at the Macaroni Grill at table, made with a touch of rosemary, brushed lightly with olive oil, sprinkled with coarse salt before serving. Yummy!
My cooking tragedies
A pot of homemade chicken soup that I added noodles to then left too long on the stove before serving (do not watch TV and cook! LOL)-- what a starchy mess! No one could eat it!
