About this Cook
Check out my food blog: http://chefjoshuaburgin.com :D I am a college student in Tennessee with a HUGE passion for cooking. I didn't discover this love until I moved to college and had to cook for myself. I now own my own baking and cake decorating business, La Boulangerie de Burgin. This fall, I will attending l'Université de Caen Basse-Normandie for an entire year. There, I will be studying the French language and experiencing french cuisine and culture!
My favorite things to cook
Anything sweet! I love sugar, lol!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern. White gravy, red velvet cake, need I go further?
My cooking triumphs
Making 100 fully decorated cookies! They were shaped like a 3-tier cake, white icing base, colored swag, border, and monogram on each. A lot of work! Also, all of my 3D cakes!
My cooking tragedies
Haha, trying to make fondant. Spent 24 straight hours doing it!

French Chocolate Cake
This was seriously one of the best desserts I have ever made! It was pretty simple to make and totally delighted my dinner guests. I cut the recipe in half and used my 5-inch Springform pan. I also substituted the butter for margarine and worked very well! I believe I will be making this again for another dinner party this weekend :D

Lemon Cream Cupcakes
My goodness, These were the most delicious cupcakes every! Took them to work and they were instantly gobbled up! Like other reviewers, I substituted the sour cream for vanilla yogurt, and they were fabulous! Next time, I will definitely cut the frosting recipe in half! It didn't look like much, it made 1 cup of frosting. I only used a 1/2 cup, so the rest was wasted. I also topped my cupcakes with some lemon zest for an extra lemony flavor!
