About this Cook
I'm 32 yrs old. Been married for 12 yrs and we have a 3 yr old son. I love to cook of course, read, make jewelry/bead, and spend time with my family.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook is Italian and Mexican dishes. My husband's family is Italian and I've learned alot about Italian cooking. Being from Texas Mexican food and cooking is kinda a staple..lol..I pretty much love to cook just about anything from scratch. One of my favorite dishes to make is Seafood Gumbo! I don't make it often since it can be expensive an dvery time consuming.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pasta Fugoli (sp?)..recipe passed down from my husband's grandma.
My cooking triumphs
Seafood Gumbo! I mastered the roux and the whole process. Very time consuming, but so much fun to make. I think I'm in the way to tweaking or adjusting dishes with stuff that I think would make it good. And I'm getting better at coming up with my own "recipes" for Mexican, Italian, and Asian.
My cooking tragedies
My brothers will never let me forget the time I made snickerdoodles in high school. They said it was the worst cookie they ever tasted. Not sure what I did, but they were bitter. When I first got married I decided to make my husband a fresh berry dessert. Except I forgot the sugar and it was so tart and bitter I had to throw it out.

Perfect Apple Pie
OMG! Such a good apple pie recipe! The only one I will ever use. In fact this is what I am taking for my dessert for Thanksgiving. I used 4 different types of apples, 2 each. And the sweetness of some balanced out the tartness of the other......

Monkey Bread V
Very good! And so much better than what my mom used to make. Hers were always dry and kinda hard. I thought that was how they were supposed to be. but this recipe was good. soft and gooey.

Salmon Patties
Very good! Alot like what my mom used to make. I added a little bit of garlic salt since I didn't have garlic on hand. And used a creamy dill sauce to dip them in. Growing up we used to use ketchup, but ketchup would have ruined the taste of these wonderful salmon patties.
