About this Cook
I am a 15 year old student from Castlerea in Co.Roscommon Ireland. I study HomeEconomics and have a huge interest in cooking. I had the responsibility of cooking for my brothers when my mum was ill a few years ago, since then I have developed a huge interest in cooking. I also have helped with friends parties and local cake sales. I anticipate to become a family doctor or a child counsellor and then later in life open a restuarant. I love food and it is my main way of socializing. I love to cook for my girlfriend and go on long walks followed by a picnic.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking absolutely everything so long as the ingredients are not hard to source. I love Italian as that is my girlfriends nationality and we like to converse about the italian culture. I love variety in food and I am always looking at new ways to do things. I would love to try everything once, so let me know if you have anything nice!
My favorite family cooking traditions
During my youth, my diet was a traditional Irish one, we would make stews or roasts mostly and didnt expiriment. During the period 1998-2004, We travelled alot and I got the chance to try food from different cultures, It was an amazing expierence. I then started to cook alot more and finally was able to expiriment. I now am willing to try anything from any culture and love to try new things. All of my family eat meat, but I choose not to because I find eating animals quite disgusting.
My cooking triumphs
My most treasured cooking memory is that when I cooked in my Junior Certificate cookery practical. It went great and my minestrone soup and Cream Berry Supreme turned out lovely. Hopefully it went down a treat and the examiner liked it.
My cooking tragedies
I only have had two tradgedies in my cooking expierence and that was once I scalded my whole arm while pouring hot water out of a kettle. The second was a practice for my cookery practical when my cream didnt whip, my soup was too thick and my bread was burnt. Thank god it was only a practice!

Bruschetta II
I am looking for a good Bruschetta recipie. Tried this and it was just tomatos on bread. Expirimented a little bit and it was lovely. Add more basil, add balsamic vinegar. Rub bread with garlic and then toast. Drizzle with olive oil and melt a little mozerella over it! This was far too bland!!!
