I am a busy woman, I am a wife and mother of 3 beautiful children.I have a wonderful marriage and I am blessed with a great job. I am a School Nurse, I try to teach healthy choices to my students. I learned to cook from my incredible mother, and enjoy having my kids help me with meals. I can make a sandwich or a fancy feast for lots of company. I love the way a good homecooked meal can bring people together.I am a strong believer in having family meals AT THE TABLE TOGETHER.- not plopping kids in the livingroom in front of a tv eatting junk! we enjoy talking and spending that "family time". I am addicted to the Tv shows "Hells kitchen"and "The next Food Network star" and "Unwrapped" I have a small crush on Bobby Flay also!My husband loves to watch food network with me, and my oldest son (6 years old) says Im the best cook in the world! LOL I love chicken, and anything seafood. My children love my meatballs!I like to try new recipes often, and enjoy all kinds of cuisines. My hubby takes me on "date night" once a week, I try a new food and then try to recreate it at home. I like easy weekday meals,and i can turn a boring dish into something fun and creative for my children.. but I have a picky eater, my 6 year old son can make dinner a challenge! I would really like to learn how to cook more fish, not just fish sticks or my hubbies favorite : Beer Battered! My kids and I always make a gingerbread house & cookies at the holidays and I cook Thanksgiving dinner for my whole family. Everyone in our family gets to pick a meal once a week,- whatever they want.(with in reason) and birthdays are a BIG deal, they pick the whole menu! there have been some strange combos! I love to make appetizers for my hoilday open house, and I get many complements every year, I get my knack for entertaining from my mother, it is never just chips and dip! My family says I make the best chicken pot pies. And my friends at work love my tortilla soup. I am always requested to make it, and decorate the room. My friends love my appetizers, I throw a great party! As a Nurse, I am finding ways to incorporate healthier food into my children's meals is a top priority! I have the best family & friends in the universe!!! I love comfort food, and deep fried, My husband is a real "meat and potatos" guy, so I can tend to get stuck in a "rut" when I find myself bored with our "basic" menu, I look on this site and find something new. I am not real daring with spices, I would like to learn to incorporate them more.
