About this Cook
I love cooking for my man! He is a very picky eater and I enjoy finding things he has never tried or thought he didn't like and making him fall in love with them. Most of my close friends are very accomplished cooks as well so it is fun to come up with new stuff to wow them with.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, Italian, good old down home cookin', cakes and cookies.
My cooking triumphs
At last years Thanksgiving dinner my brother leaned to his wife and whispered "this is the best Thanksgiving dinner I've ever had", she promptly repeated it aloud at the table to his dismay but I'm glad she shared because it made all the work worth it.
My cooking tragedies
Somehow I pull it off but about once a year I decide to make a crazy elaborate cake. I end up staying up for two days straight to finish it in time. Maybe once I will decide to do something I can finish in a day but what fun would that be.

Pineapple Pepper Chicken
5 stars for the sauce. That's all I used from this recipe. Grilled some steak and pineapple added the green pepper to the sauce as it cooked and served it all over rice with a garnish of toasted sesame seeds. I did sub. about a tbsp of the ketchup w/ siraccha for a bit of spice to balance the sweet.

Egg White Sugar Mold
I gave this 4 stars because Nellie did and I used her recipe. I used the sugar for small candy size fleur de lis molds that I was using to decorate a cake. It worked very well with the small molds but when I tried to use it on the larger sucker sized molds I couldn't get them out of the molds w/out cracking or breaking even after dusting the mold w/ cornstarch.

Special Buttercream Frosting
I loved this frosting! The only substitution I made was I used butter extract in place of the vanilla. It didn't get 5 stars because it didn't yield as much frosting as it says in the recipe. I ended up having to make more to complete my project.
