About this Cook
Love the satisfaction of feeding my family healthy meals that they ENJOY which can be a challenge with such diverse tastes and living in a junk food world. Recently rediscovered my love of running and seeing my family start to follow suit.
My favorite things to cook
My all time favorite dish is ratatouille with lots of red wine. Soup! Can never make too much soup, as far as I'm concerned!
My cooking triumphs
Learning some things that scared me to cook are rather simple and satisfying to make like risotto and cream brule! Yumm
My cooking tragedies
A year of gluten free cooking attempts in the garbage. But my husband blamed it on the stove and bought me a new one :)

Healing Cabbage Soup
What a simple but yummy soup. I just needed to use up a head of cabbage in my fridge that was getting old and came out with a favorite! Make it your own with a few spices you enjoy.

Red and Green Christmas Jalapeno Jelly
Not sure what I was expecting but I found this vinegar and sugary and not much else. Maybe there is a better recipe out there. This is not it.

Tasty Lentil Tacos
Yum yum! My family loved this and so did I as we are a family of mostly vegetarians. So I am always looking for great ways to get more lentils into us. This was a great recipe but some of us were not keen on the level of heat from the chilli powder and had to counter it by adding more cheese and sour cream which takes away from the health aspect of the meal. Of course as vegetarians I used vegetable stock (low sodium) instead of chicken stock and cut up some bell peppers too. My devoted to meat eating husband liked this meal too. In fact he went back for seconds and said he couldn't taste or tell the difference from the traditional meat version :)
