WOW. This pie is fantastic. I read the reviews before I made it and added 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon to the apples. Honestly, it probably would have been perfect without the cinnamon. I also used a combination of granny smiths and galas (to cut some of the tartness). I didn't do the lattice - instead, I put vent slits in the top pie crust and brushed on 2 tbs of the butter/sugar mixture that I had reserved. Served it a-la-mode and it was a hit!

I really liked the flavors of this recipe. The store was out of cubed ham, so I used canadian bacon and the canadian bacon dried out as it cooked. I will definitely use the ham next time. Also, I used 12 eggs in a 13.5 x 9.5 and will definitely use more next time, and less cheese.

Hands down the best chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever tasted. They always get rave reviews, BUT you must make them on the day they will be consumed, otherwise, they become hard and crumbly. If you must make them 1 day ahead: cool completely, wrap each cookie individually in plastic wrap, and place in an airtight container to store overnight. You may even want to refrigerate.
