About this Cook
My real name is Rachael and I am 30 years old. I am 5'11" with long reddish coppery brown hair and dark green eyes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pasta with homemade sauces, prawns, garlic and wine. I also like to cook Indian cuisine from scratch and I love experimenting with food and seafood in particular.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I'm cooking cous cous with cajun chicken, I like to flavour it with mixed herbs, sundried tomatoes, a little chicken stock and some sultanas, it helps to give it a lovely mediteranian feel and compliments the spices in the cajun.
My cooking triumphs
I am usually pretty lucky when it comes to making chocolate spongecakes. I find that I get lovely light sponges. I recently tried my hand at recreating something I ate in a restaurant and was very pleased with how it turned out. Prawns, white wine, tomatoes, monkfish and garlic, go very well together!!
My cooking tragedies
I made an sponge cake in a gas oven once and I am used to electric fan-assisted ovens which are terrific for sponge cake triumphs. I gave it 25 mins as normal, but the cake didn't rise and ended up closely resembling a discus!! Well, I certainly could've thrown it about 50 metres!!
