I love to have fun, either at work, (St. John's Hospital) or home. I have 3 cats, 3 birds, and 200 or so fish. I love to play games with children of all ages. I was a professional photographer for 15 yrs and a short-order cook for 3 years. I loved to do the salad bar and make the whole presentation wonderful.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everything especially things that I have to decorate. Cakes, cookies or even the main dish to look presentable.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner with my mom. Waking up early to get the 20 lb bird in. Home-made stuffing and everything. Watching the Macy's Day Parade at the same time. Starting the day with stuffed mushrooms for breakfast and ending the day with a turkey sandwich.
My cooking triumphs
I won a cake decorating contest at the Ozark Empire Fair, and the First place and Grand Marshall prize for "Strawberry, Zuchini, Pineapple, Jalopeno Jam". I also got into the Guinness Book of World Records, helping with ice carvings at a restaurant that I worked at.
My cooking tragedies
We had made a 5 tier wedding cake and did not have a ride to get it to the church. A local teenager offered to take us and took off like a bat out of "you know where". Multiple damages to the decorations, we fixed it as best as we could when we got there. That was aweful!!!
