About this Cook
I just married the love of my life three weeks ago... thankfully all the crazy planning and execution of the "Big Day" is over. We have more time to relax and spend quality time together and feel like we are relearning all the fun things about each other. We are an incredibly athletic couple, we love to go hiking together, kayaking, running, swimming, to the gym - you name it, we love it. We also enjoy our form of "gourmet" cooking and trying new kinds of wine... as we love to entertain our loved ones and friends in our new home. I don't at all consider either of us a pro, but in our house, its the effort that counts!
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti and meatballs, Shrimp pesto pasta, different kinds of deep dish pizzas, and I have a small obsession with cooking people breakfast... scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles, french toast, no matter what it is, if it's the AM - you won't go hungry at our house!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas morning must come with the welcoming smell of my mom's famous egg cassarole and coffee cake, it just simply isn't Christmas without it! Thanksgiving is known for my Grandmother's turkey and home made noodles - YUM, I haven't weazled the recipe out of her yet... but I hope to in the future.
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I first started living together, we attempted making sweet and sour chicken with fried rice - but both of us being inexperienced in this realm of the kitchen... we fried the rice before we cooked it. It felt like we were trying to eat pebbles, we havne't tried making it since.

It's Chili by George!!
Great Chili! We tried this one last night, it is packed full of beans, tomoato and flavor. We added some more spice - great for cold winter nights!

White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
I made these last year around the holidays, and the family loved them. Making them is easy, decorating is simple, and I mixed in some milk chocolate covered pretzels... the best mix.

Best Bruschetta Ever
This was a great recipe! It is good warm or chilled - my family goes nuts over this when I make it. I changed the ingredients a bit by adding black olives, it gives it a little kick.
