About this Cook
I'm a newbie to the kitchen! After working 2 jobs back to back for a few years, I finally have the time to enter into the kitchen. I've been "cooking" for about 2 years & think I'm finally getting the skills under my belt. I love this website!!
My favorite things to cook
Fish- any kind, any recipe, any way. I'm not a big "meat" eater, I just usually stick with chicken. Just learning the crockpot, so anything slow cooked as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
none- grew up eating TV dinners & pot pies.
My cooking triumphs
ummm, can't really think of any.
My cooking tragedies
Chicken mole

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy
Excellent- I love bleu cheese on almost anything- so the sauce can go a long way, I had left over sauce & used over an encrusted tilapia fillet the following night.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup
had some left over ham & substituted for the sausage, I omitted the carrots b/c I'm not a fan. I cooked in the crockpot for 6 hours & still had puree w/a hand blender, turned out fantastic! I used red potatoes & kept the skin on, had enough to freeze to enjoy later during the colder months- this is a keeper!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
It's a keeper! I had a large quanity of left over ham to use up & decided to freeze some homemade soups for the upcoming winter, this recipe caught my eye- served for dinner that night & the b-friend raved about it! I used red potatos and kept the skin on, added a little cheddar cheese to the rue before combining w/the base. I will be making extra batches to freeze again. this is a hearty, warm soup that's delish!!!
